I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk to Heidi Easley for her free online Art Heals Summit and it really got me thinking about the healing power of art and how it informs and inspires so much of my creative practice!
For me mixed media is a meditative creative art form. Building layers and textures is a way for me to explore my inner self and to escape into a creative place. I have found creating sketches and then coloring them with colored pencil, gel pen or even watercolor also gives me some mental calm and allows for clarity in the hustle and bustle of the day to day. I create art every day so I am always making time and space for reflection and quiet.
My mixed media circles series is all about contemplation. I have created a coloring page that you can download HERE for free. I hope that you find some quiet peace and reflection as you color this page. I would love to hear how you use art to heal yourself or others please share in the comment area below.
If you are interested in signing up for Heidi's Art Heals Summit it starts on May 9th and will be chock full of inspiring interviews!
"Circles have no beginning or end. They represent the eternal whole and in every culture are an archetypical form representing the sun, the earth, the moon, the universe, and other celestial objects between."
