Artistic inspiration is all around us, when we travel we tend to slow down and see colors and creative bits of life in a new way. Join me as I explore the City-life & Seascapes of Portland Oregon and Portland Maine, we will start by creating a handmade art journal that will accompany us on our journey. Through this class I will show you how to find inspiration through new mark making ideas, fundamental art concepts and practice, finding and documenting textures, colors and hidden creative bits of life most people just walk by.

We will fill the pages or our art journal through exploration of our creative process and then turn those documented experiences into a series of finished abstract pieces. So grab your art supplies and your sense of adventure and lets get outside and enjoy a creative journey together!

Do I need to have any formal art training, experience or "art skill" to take this class? 100% NOPE! You do not need any prior experience to take this online class! I believe creating art and exploring your creative process can happen in many different ways and at all levels. My teaching style is accessible to all levels and learning styles plus this class is structured to give you some foundational practice and concepts to build upon and learn as you go.

Is there a limit to how many students are allowed in the class? As of right now, nope. You can buy your seat for City & Sea at any time through my DrawRiot Etsy Shop starting August 16th, and there is no limit to the number of students enrolled.

Why do I have to wait to get access to the class?

I am busy as a bee finalizing class videos and building an amazing Online Class experience I also want to share a product with lots of variety and to do this I decided to shoot 1/2 of my content in the Summer (July) and 1/2 in the Fall (October) that way you get lots of color, texture and a completely different set of source material and locations to work with for inspiration. Did I mention Cloves and Honey is also creating a Limited Edition set of watercolors just for this class?! Seriously this is going to be Epic! Do I have to buy the special Cloves & Honey Watercolors to be part of this class?

No, you can use any watercolors you have however, I will be using these specially formulated colors throughout the City & Sea class, These watercolors have been selected and hand made in a limited edition set to match and express the colors and personality of Portland, Oregon and Portland, Maine. Plus they are made with artist grade pigment and are a wonderful addition to your art supply stash!

How do I view the class videos? All of the course videos will be uploaded and featured on Vimeo. You’ll receive a private link and password to access all of the videos from the interactive PDF which comes along with this class starting on Dec 1st. Vimeo will play on any desktop, laptop, or iPad so long as you are connected to the internet! You will find the Class Passport Link that will give you access to download the Full Interactive Class PDF on December 1st 2017 (Our first day of class) in the Class Detail PDF that you receive when you purchase this class.

Do I get to download and keep the videos? How long do I have to access the class? No – you won't be able to download or save the videos (nor would you want to, because they are 4K high-resolution ginormous files!), but they will be available to you via the private Vimeo link and password for a full year from the start date of the class. (Dec. 1st 2017 6AM EST.)

Is the class available to anyone outside of the U.S.? 100% YES! Anyone can take the class, but please note all of the videos are in English.

What if I need help or have questions? If you are a student in the City & Sea Online Class, you will have access to the private Facebook group – where you can post your questions.
